Rentals and Decor
Everything You Need and More
Rental shops can provide many items that will make your wedding more beautiful. They have arches, champagne fountains, tents, glassware, tables of all shapes, and just about everything you will need but do not want to purchase. The key is making sure you are organized and have a complete list, including an accurate count, of everything you need.
On you first visit to the store you will want to make notes about the different items that are available and what you like. Collect brochures, price lists, and deposit and payment information. Once you have determined what items are at your ceremony or reception site, you can begin to make a list of the things you will need. For your ceremony site, you can rent candleholders to stand at each pew, an aisle runner, and even arches. If your wedding is outside, you can rent tents, tables, chairs, linens, torches, and even a dance floor.
When to Order
Reserve your items as far in advance as possible and remember your items are not reserved until a deposit is made.
Tables and Chairs
When renting tables and chairs you will want to consider the type of reception you are having. For a full meal reception you will want to provide seating for all of your guests. If you are hosting a cocktail reception, you will only need to provide tables and seating for approximately 30% to 50% of your guests.
Tents and Canopies
If you are hosting an outdoor event, tents and canopies may be necessary to protect your guests from the weather. Tents can be expensive to rent due to the labor involved in delivery and set up. Your will need to know the number of tents, their size and colors available. Also, consider the time of year, and determine if portable heating or air-conditioning is necessary.
